Entrepreneur’s Dhanya Dhenu Food brand Earns ₹2 Cr In FY24

Dhanya Dhenu a food brand was launched by Rishikesh-based Hariom Nautiyal which deals with dairy products and pickles. 

Hariom is 39 years old and worked in IT-sector based in Bangalore and earning more than 1 lakh. He also worked as a freelancer after 5-6 hour office work. He was tired from city life and thought of going back to native place Rishikesh. 

In 2009 he left Bangalore and started his milk business in the village. He struggled a lot to sell milk because of competition and started his brand Dhanya Dhenu in 2014. Hariom Invested 10-15 lakh to start a business with 10-12 cows. At that time he got proffit of 9 rs per day but he didn’t give up.

He talked with village women and started to produce 23 types of unique flavours pickles. Hariom started selling Ice Cream, milk with sustainable organic practices. Village womens got a chance to  work and earn from that. His pickle got famous because of the variety of pickles and Dhany Dhenu started making profit. 

Hariom started farming vegetables, fruits and selling dairy products. Dhanya Dhenu manufactures 33 varieties of ice cream, all made from organic ingredients. Despite challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, the ice cream sector has become a significant part of their business. 

Dhanya Dhenu sells products in partnership with major e-commerce platforms like Amazon and flipkart to reach customers of India and Abroad. Dairy products are sold in an approx 200 km radius of Rishikesh and pickles all over India. Participation in trade fairs in 2019 boosted revenue significantly. Brand now reaches Rs 2 crore  annual revenue and profit from dairy products alone reaches at 4000 per day. 

When Hariom left his job, villagers and relatives taunted him. They told you that if you want to work with animals only then why you wasted your parent’s money on education. You are setting a bad example for other childrens. 

But now things have changed gradually and he is insp[ioration for villagers and youth. 

Their business plan to set solar for his factory to reduce electricity bill and get more profits.
